Portland Rose FestivalThe Portland Rose Festival will celebrate it's 100th year. This is the Big Annual Event for Portland every year. Lots of activities beginning May 31st and lasting through June 10th. Primary Activities include: Waterfront Village Carnival at Water Front
Park beginning Thursday May 31st to Sunday June 10th 2007 from 11:00 AM to
11:00 PM * (May 31 gates open at 5:00 PM) * Event hours & closing times are
subject to change based on weather, attendance and park safety conditions. Fleet Week Ships from the United States Navy,
Coast Guard, and the Canadian Maritime Forces arrive from around the world for a
four-day visit to the City of Roses. Fleet visitation has been an annual
tradition for nearly 70 years. Rose Cup Races Date Friday, June 1st –
Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 The Fireworks Spectacular is at Water
Front Park on Friday June 1st 2007 at 9:45 PM. The Starlight Run is held at Lincoln High
School at 1600 SW Salmon St Saturday June 3rd at 8:00 PM. Saturday, June 2nd
2007. The Starlight Parade is Saturday June 2nd at 8:30 PM. This event is Free. This parade has about 100 entries with marching bands and lighted floats through 2 & 1/4 miles of down town Portland. The Junior Parade is Wednesday June 6th at
1:00 PM in the Hollywood district. This event is Free. This children's parade
has thousands of kids competing for various awards on bicycles, tricycles and
unicycles. The Queen's Coronation is Saturday June 10th
at 8:30 AM. Admission is $6.00 to $12.00. This event is at One Center Court,
1401 N Wheeler Ave. The Dragon Boat Races are held at Water Front Park with free admission on Saturday June 9th and 10th. Almost 100 teams compete with races run about every 10 minutes down the Willamette River. The Rose Festival Parade is Saturday, June 9th 2007 at 10:00 AM. The starting location is Memorial Coliseum through downtown Portland. Admission is Free on the streets of down town Portland, inside Memorial Coliseum; $30 and just outside Memorial Coliseum; $30 and $25. This event is also televised live on Channel 8 and Northwest Cable News. This is a big event that draws attention from all over the country, with many traveling to Portland to attend the Grand Floral Parade. This event has been going since 1907 with participants from this area and beyond. The parade route is over 4 miles long beginning at the coliseum and winding through downtown Portland before it ends at I 405 and Taylor.
